Mindfulness - Begin HERE

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness is a practice. The definition is to be present with ones whole-self without attachment or self-judgment.

I invite you to dig deeper into this with my podcast and integration of mindfulness with our Mindfulness workshop. To get you started, I hope this brings you some insight on the concept of Mindfulness.

Mindfulness is not something you can get from someone or something. Not even our workshop will give you the ability to become mindful.

The beauty of mindfulness is it can only be achieved when a person dedicates to the practice. There are tools that can support and guide you and this will take time. You must practice becoming self-aware, becoming intentional and becoming self-accountable. Lets be honest, only you know if you are showing up for yourself in this way. The people around you will not know, yet they will begin to see the subtle and impactful changes that a practice such as mindfulness can bring to you, from within, day after day!

To become more mindful first you must become present. The here and now. Learning to train the mind in staying in the moment without distractions of your past or your future will highly benefit your growth. Tune into here and now by become aware of your senses. What do you hear, see, smell, taste or feel. This will allow you to drop into the moment more fully.

Next, you will want to take inventory of your thoughts and emotions and understand these aspects of you are not your identity, rather a passing element. Both thoughts and emotions are the same because they come, they stay for some time and then they pass.

The Practice: Here are a few practices that can support your ability to expand the time you are conscious and present in the moment.

  • Meditation

  • Body Scan

  • Earthing

  • Breathwork

  • Noting thoughts and emotions

Areas of life you can become more mindful

  • In the moment of everyday interactions

  • Parenting

  • Relationships

  • In the Work Place

Be patient and persistent with yourself while also being gentle and supportive. Starting a new habit is possible! Become clear on what new practice you want to begin. Plan, Commit, Set Reminders, Celebrate the small wins, and Never give up on yourself.

You are worth it!

Much Love , Jess XOXO
